The Regional East African Center for Health Informatics (REACH -Informatics) in Eldoret, Kenya, was created in 2009 and builds on the long-term collaboration between Indiana and Moi Universities and the global informatics leadership of the Regenstrief Institute.
REACH-Informatics is offering a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship aimed at developing informatics expertise to implement and use health information technology to enhance research and improve health care quality, efficiency, and outcomes.
Fellows will spend 1year at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA to complete classroom work. The second year of the program will be spent in Eldoret, Kenya, at Moi University, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), and the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH). Fellows will be eligible for either a Master of Science in Clinical Research or a Master of Science in Health Informatics at the end of the two year period.

The World Agroforestry Centre (also known as the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry or ICRAF) is an independent research institution which generates science-based knowledge about the role trees play in agricultural landscapes and rural livelihoods. As part of the Centre’s work to bring tree-based solutions to bear on poverty and environmental problems, researchers – working in close collaboration with partners – are developing new technologies, tools and policy recommendations for increased food security and ecosystem health.
The Centre’s headquarters are located in Nairobi, Kenya, and research is conducted in 23 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. ICRAF is a member of the Consortium of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) through which research and development support is received from over 50 donors.

Background to the position
The Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI), established as one of the premier national agricultural research organization in 1979. is a research and knowledge generation institution. It has 22 main research centres and 14 sub-centres located throughout the country.
These centres are strategically placed to cater for different agro-ecological zones and socio-economic systems.
Research is undertaken in six areas: Crops; Livestock: Natural Rescurce Management: Biotechnology and Genetic Resource Management; Socio-Economics and Applied Statistics; and Adaptive Research, Outreach and Partnerships.

WWARN Regional Scientific Director, East Africa Job Vacancy
The Worldwide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) has been established to set up a global resource to ensure efficacious use of antimalarial drugs so that more of the right drugs can get to the right people at the right time, and the drugs will last longer. The Network will work with data collection agencies in countries where malaria is common, and with health policy makers at national and global levels.
The advertised post is a new role based in Nairobi and leading the WWARN East Africa Regional Office. The post-holder will oversee WWARN technical and scientific activities in the East Africa region and manage a small clinical team that includes a Regional Liaison Scientist, a Statistician, a Data Manager, and an Administrator.
