CDD TORs for Consultant

1. Background

Center for study and practice of Direct Democracy (CDD) was established in 2004 and has been running a project known as The Youth Assembly.

The main objective of CDD is to provide a platform for citizen participation in social, political, economic and cultural issues affecting their lives and as such influence the decision making processes. The centre has carried out projects in all the provinces of Kenya since its inception.

CDD has three main program areas:

• Women: targeting women in general
• Youth: targeting young people of both genders, aged between 18-35 years of age
• Mainstream public; targeting the general public as it is

CDD is seeking to establish discussion platforms in selected institutions of higher learning. The objectives of the project  are :

Renewable Energy Ventures (K) Limited is is a consultancy and project  advisory company in the areas of environment, renewable energies and  energy efficiency.

In our advisory role, we help investors carry out  due diligence on potential renewable energy investments in Kenya, work  with development organizations in the design and implementation of  programs in energy efficiency, renewable energy and access to energy and do rural electrification consulting.

We also distribute solar  lanterns and run a model in order to create jobs for young people and  women under a program dubbed “The Solantners Initiative”.

In our aim as Solanterns to replace 1 million kerosene lanterns with solar lanterns and in our obligation to assist the Entrepreneurs, Stockists and Distributors we collaborate with to  achieve even higher  volumes, we offer marketing support and material in their specific  target markets.
