Communications Officer – Oxfam GB Kenya programme Jobs

Salary level D1 – Kshs. 163,555 gross per month

Based in Nairobi, Kenya Programme

Oxfam GB Kenya programme has wide experience and knowledge base, developed through years of working with communities and other institutions at various levels. There are increased needs to communicate the impact Oxfam is achieving, to internal and external audiences. In order to support the programme we need a dedicated and highly motivated Communication professional to make an impact on poverty and suffering.

The Role

The post-holder will review and update, in consultation with the programme team, and with support from the Regional Media Communications Officer, the current Kenya communications plan. The role identifies and supports the communication needs of our partners and beneficiaries; help to raise their profiles and their key issues, and promote the voices of the communities in which we work.

Volunteer Editor (Interim) – The Big Issue Kenya Jobs

Job Title: Volunteer Editor (Interim)
Reports to: TBIK Project Manager
Manages: Writers, Editorial Interns
Status: Full-time

Contract: 3 months, after which annually renewable contracts (dependent on available funds). A monthly allowance will be made to the volunteer Editor.

The Big issue Kenya is an independent alternative media publication that provides the vehicle for interaction between homeless and marginalized people and the general public. Through TBIK programmes, we aim to build awareness and trust as a means of increasing social capital in our country, thus working towards poverty reduction.

Editor Job Vacancy in a Leading Media House in Dar- es-Salaam Tanzania

Our client is a leading Media House in Dar- es-Salaam Tanzania. They wish to recruit an Editor to handle a variety of their publications.

Requirements:

  • Ensuring all publications meet deadlines and quality standards for articles, pictures, layout and general production process.
  • Ensuring adverts design, article reviews and editing are done within specified time.
  • Develop working relationship with both in-house and freelancers to stimulate production of informative supplement stories, articles, news items and interviews, among other responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree / Diploma in Journalism or Public Relations.
  • Must have excellent command of English language both written and spoken.
  • Have a Minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar capacity.
