Request for proposal for preparation of PINs, and PDDs for the Mau Forest Complex, Aberdares Ecosystem, Greening the cities and Riparian Reserves and National Appropriate Mitigation Actions.
Introduction
The Interim Coordinating Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources Government are in the process of supporting the implementation of high conservation impact projects in part as a response strategy to mitigating effects of climate through carbon sequestration efforts.
With recent developments in rehabilitating deforested and degraded lands of Mau Forest Complex, conservation, management and protection efforts in the Aberdares ecosystem, greening the cities and protecting the riparian reserves, it is envisaged that additional climate change benefits could generate carbon revenues for the country.

United Nations Development Programme Kenya Project Manager Vacancy Announcement
UNDP Kenya seeks to recruit a National Project Manager for Kenya Adaptation to Climate Change in Arid Lands Project.
Background
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the management of the UNDP managed component of the joint UNDP-World Bank Kenya Adaptation to Climate Change in And Lands (KACCAL) project.
He/She will liaise with other adaptation and Global Environment Facility (GEF) projects in the African Region and co-ordinate closely with the Project Steering Committee, the Government of Kenya and UNDP Energy and Environment Unit.
The PM wil also provide administrative and technical assistance required by the project implementing partners and other parties involved in the project and provide coordination support to any activities taking place in the project site.

The Rural Electrification Authority intends to construct two (2) off-grid diesel power generating stations and associated substations in Dadaab and Sololo towns in Dadaab and Sololo districts respectively
In compliance with the Environmental Management Coordination Act (EMCA), 1999, an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment needs to be carried out to determine among others the state of the environment before the projects, the impact of the projects to the environment during the construction, operation and decommissioning phases and mitigation measures of eliminating, minimizing/reducing adverse/negative impacts and/or maximizing social-economic benefits.
