A Christian-based non-governmental organization in Kawangware is seeking for Two Part Time Volunteer P1 Teachers to work 1pm – 6pm Monday through Friday.

Requirements:

• A born again Christian and be able to share Jesus Christ with children and adults
• Must have a P1 training from a recognized institution
• Teaching Experience needed in either city council or a private primary school
• Able to teach all primary school subjects.
• Must be familiar with Kenyan educational System.
• Able to work 5 hours a day, Monday through Friday.
• Interact with children, parents and colleagues, both verbally and in writing

Call for Consultancy: Training of Teachers and Project Co-ordinators on ECD Management

Background

Grassroots Alliance for Community Education (G.R.A.C.E) is a Non Governmental Organization implementing a program aimed at improving the quality of care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in three provinces, namely Nyanza, Eastern and Central.

Through the program, 15 local partner organizations in the program sites have been supported to recruit more than 1,500 OVC into community Early Childhood Development centers, through which they are supported with essential services, including education, medical care, psychosocial support, protection, shelter and food.

The Assignment

G.R.A.C.E Africa seeks to engage a suitably qualified consultant or consultancy firm to train up to 30 people comprised of teachers in charge of the day to day management of the ECD centers and program staff of the 15 partner organizations in each site on ECD management.  The aim of the train is to enhance the trainees’ skills and knowledge in ECD management and by extension the management of finances, communication, human resources and daily work at the centers.

1.  Introduction

VSF-Suisse is an International NGO, supporting community based animal health programmes, food aid and food security, rehabilitation and development programmes in the Horn of Africa (HoA) region since 1995.

In Southern Sudan, VSF-Suisse implements projects in Unity, Warrap and Northern Bahr el Ghazal (NBEG) States. VSF Suisse is currently implementing the MARF¹/MDTF² funded LFDP³ Project in Unity State, which runs from 1st February to 31st July 2010.

The overall goal of the project is to facilitate the rapid recovery and restoration of livestock based rural livelihoods of Southern Sudanese agro-pastoralists through improved animal health services delivery system via the public and private sectors.
