Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Police Commissioner, the incumbent will be responsible for:

• Reviewing the existing local police training needs and systems and infrastructure in close coordination with local police training staff, local higher learning and training institutions and international police training institutions with the objective of assisting in developing local police training programs, lesson plans, and prepare appropriate learning materials, guide books, manuals and all other instructional materials.

• Planning and executing of police operations and advising the Police Commissioner with appropriate inputs in relation to the operational issues and details;
• Assist the Police Commissioner in the formulation and implementation of the AU Police operational Plans of action based on the Concept of Operations formulated by the Strategic Planning and Management Unit at the AU Headquarters ;

• Managing all matters about the travel on emplacement, repatriation, rotation, performance appraisals, welfare, duty/attendance rosters and records management of all AU Police personnel;
